Dance Director: Margie Wells

Margie Wells is an Examiner with the Association of International Dance. She has a lifetime of dance experience, having danced professionally. She has taught and examined locally and internationally. While Margie currently specializes in training teachers and syllabus work, she is well known for her dance shows including ‘Circle of Life’, “Rhythm of the Soul’, “Struttin’ Through The Century” and more recently “Mystique”. Margie also choreographs for many promotions.

Jann Bodeker - Assistant Teacher

Jann has danced professionally for the last +_10 years. She has now retired from professional dancing and is ready to impart all her experience to those she teaches.

Tracy Lee Lawson - Contemporary Dancer teacher

Ex director and resident teacher of The Guild Theatre Dance Company in the Eastern Cape and highly accomplished in ballet, contemporary modern, tap and jazz dance. Tracey's love for contemporary style has come to the fore with a deep love for music, strong technique and an adventurous spirit in movement.

Jo Maema - Ballroom/Latin/Line Dancing Instructor

Jo is South African Champion

Jo has been doing Ballroom and Latin dancing since 2001. He has progressed though all competitive levels from Bronze to Championships, where he is currently dancing with his partner, Amber Chowles. They won their first major competition in 2008 - South African Adult Novice Champions. Since then they have won all the competitions they have competed in, in 2009, including Battle of the Giants Amateur Rising Star Latin at Sun City, Future Stars Pre- Champs; 2009 Gauteng Provincial and the South African Amateur Rising Star Latin Championships. They have also represented South Africa in Blackpool in the United Kingdom.

Jo and Amber are available to do shows or entertain at weddings, parties or corporate functions or any occasion that might need entertainment.

Dancexchange also offers dance lessons in Ballroom and Latin American. Couples for social dancing, private lessons for those who wish to do it seriously and for wedding couples for their big day.

 

Beryl Simon - Open Tap Class

Tap doyenne, Beryl brings from Cape Town over 50 years of teaching, performing and choreographic brilliance to the studio. Beryl is now sharing her expansive knowledge giving tap classes to young and old and beginners on Saturday mornings.

Nobody cares if you can't dance well.  Just get up and dance. -Dave Barry
