DANCEXCHANGE RULES

At DanceXchange, we believe that a positive, respectful and safe environment allows every dancer to grow, learn and enjoy their love of dance. These rules help us maintain a happy and professional studio for everyone.

1. Respect

Treat all teachers, dancers, parents, staff and visitors with kindness and respect.

Bullying, teasing, discrimination, inappropriate language or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Encourage and support your fellow dancers. We are a team!

Respect the studio, equipment, costumes and belongings of others.

2. Attendance & Punctuality

Dancers should arrive 10–15 minutes before their class.

Dancers must be ready and dressed appropriately when class begins.

Regular attendance is essential for progress and is particularly important when preparing for performances and competitions. If your child attends less than 70% of their classes, they will not be permitted to enter exams and competitions.

Please notify the studio if your dancer will be absent or late. A doctor’s note is required if your child is sick.

Dancers who arrive late may be required to wait before joining the class to ensure the class is not disrupted.

3. Dress Code

Dancers must wear the appropriate uniform or class attire for their dance style.

Hair must be neatly tied back and secured away from the face where appropriate.

Dancers must have the correct shoes for their class.

No chewing gum or eating during class.

4. FEES & PAYMENT POLICY

Fee Structure DanceXchange fees are payable either monthly or termly, according to the payment arrangement selected by the parent/guardian.

Termly Payments Parents/guardians who have selected the termly payment option are required to ensure that the full term’s fees are paid within the first month of the term.

Monthly Payments Parents/guardians who have selected the monthly payment option are required to ensure that the full monthly fee is paid within the first 15 days of each month.

Payment Responsibility It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that all fees are paid by the applicable due date. Non-attendance of classes does not exempt a dancer from payment of fees.

Outstanding Fees Accounts are expected to remain fully up to date at all times. Any outstanding fees must be settled as soon as possible. DanceXchange reserves the right to take appropriate action regarding accounts that remain unpaid.

Payment Arrangements Should a parent/guardian experience difficulty in making payment by the applicable due date, they are required to contact DanceXchange before the payment becomes overdue to discuss the matter. Any alternative payment arrangement must be agreed upon with DanceXchange in advance.

Enrolment & Fees Enrolment in DanceXchange classes constitutes an agreement to pay the applicable fees for the selected classes for the duration of the term/month, regardless of the dancer’s attendance.

5. Safety

Dancers must always follow their teacher's instructions.

No running, pushing, climbing or playing in the studios.

Dancers should never attempt movements or tricks without appropriate instruction and supervision.

Any injury, pain or illness must be reported to the teacher immediately.

Water bottles should be clearly labelled and kept in the designated area.

Dancers should not attend class if they are contagious or unwell.

6. Studio Etiquette

Enter and leave the studio quietly and respectfully.

Dancers should ask permission before leaving the studio during class.

Phones and other electronic devices should be switched off or kept away during lessons unless specifically required by the teacher.

No filming or photographing other dancers without permission.

Keep the studios, bathrooms and common areas clean and tidy.

Dancers are responsible for their own belongings. DanceXchange cannot accept responsibility for lost or stolen items.

7. Parents & Guardians

Parents are asked to allow teachers to teach without interruption.

Please avoid entering the studio during lessons unless invited by the teacher.

Questions or concerns should be addressed with the teacher or studio management at an appropriate time rather than during class.

Parents should ensure dancers are collected promptly after their lessons.

Parents must notify DanceXchange in advance if someone other than the parent or usual guardian will be collecting their child, including an au pair, family member, friend or other authorised person.

Please communicate any relevant changes, injuries or concerns to the studio.

8. Classes, Performances & Competitions

Dancers selected for performances, competitions or events are expected to attend scheduled rehearsals.

Once a dancer has committed to a performance or competition, regular attendance is essential.

Dancers must arrive at performances and competitions at the designated time and in the required attire.

Costumes, props and studio equipment must be treated with care.

Dancers are expected to represent DanceXchange with respect, enthusiasm and good sportsmanship.

9. Positive Studio Culture

We celebrate progress, not perfection.

Every dancer develops at their own pace.

Dancers should never compare themselves negatively to others.

We encourage dancers to work hard; accept corrections positively and always try their best.

Celebrate your own achievements and those of your fellow dancers.

Remember: there is always something new to learn!

10. Communication

Important studio announcements will be communicated through the official DanceXchange communication channels.

Parents and dancers are responsible for keeping up to date with studio notices, schedules and important information.

Please ensure that the studio has your current contact details.

All fees must be paid in full and kept up to date by the end of each term. Late payments will not be permitted.

11. Looking After Our DanceXchange Home

No food or drinks other than water are permitted in the studios.

Rubbish must be placed in the appropriate bins.

Do not mark, damage or misuse studio floors, mirrors, walls or equipment.

Dancers must leave the studio as they found it — clean, tidy and ready for the next class.

OUR DANCEXCHANGE PROMISE

Respect. Work hard. Be kind. Support each other. Have fun. And always dance with heart.

We want DanceXchange to be a place where every dancer feels safe, valued, supported and inspired to be the best dancer they can be.
